The story about my sister Ruth

My sister Ruth has been an inspiration in my life since I can remember. I always envied her for just doing things that I would maybe dream about, but always had some excuse not to do. She is, unlike me, one of the nicest people to have around. Despite having her first son at a relatively young age with her first husband, she always found a good balance to forward her career and finishing several educations mostly in the field of helping other people getting fit and healthy. During her education as health practitioner & acupuncture therapist she met her husband Sebastian. They found a wonderful home in the rural south of Germany, had two adorable daughters and Sebastian just started up his new business. Coming back from a family vacation he started to feel bad. At the hospital they gave him the horrible news that he had leukemia. Despite all efforts of the doctors, a bone marrow transplant and chemo therapy, Sebastian died only 5 months later.
What many of us take for granted has painfully been taken away from her and the two girls Mira, 5 and Tara 11 months old. Two tough years of grief, trying to be strong for herself and the girls, trying to make a living, trying to build up a new life have passed since then. As if she didn't have to go though enough already and just when she is starting to recover, a doctor discovered a tumor close to her ear. After the surgery that was performed quickly the diagnosis couldn't be worse: a very rare type of cancer of the parotid gland. A second surgery is performed which had the unfortunate side effect of paralyzing the right side of her face.
Now, only a few months later the doctor found not only that the cancer had grow back in her parotid gland, but to make things absolutely devastating several metastases were found in her lung. The worst thing has happened, the cancer has started to spread in her body. The doctor sais at this point whatever he can do is only delaying the inevitable. The statistics give her anything between 2 months and 2 years.
We all refuse to accept this without trying everything we can! We have found a specialist with an excellent track record, but the therapy will set her back approximately $9,700, an amount she simply doesn't have nor will the insurance cover that part. We are all trying to help her and getting the money together.
